Tadpole Bloom

Was walking the ponds Saturday and came across five different clouds of thousands of tadpoles.
Normally they are spread out around the edges and in the weeds, I think the cold must have bunched them up. A blue heron was getting to know them well.

We had the same "bloom" a couple of weeks ago. They dispersed after a day or two. Pretty cool though.

You guys are a few weeks up on us yet. I moved some minnows into my pond to keep ahead of the bugs and heard some frogs, but we won't be seeing the offspring until the water's a bit warmer.

I just put ten dozen minnows in the front pond and three doz in the back pond about a week ago.

I really want another baby bullhead, but my trap isn't producing for me. :(
