What’s the best & cheapest way to post signs around a cut over without any powerline poles to attach signs to? Looking for ideas that want cost an arm and a leg. Thanks

It probably depends on how many problems with trespass you have. Step in electric fence posts are fairly cheap. In our state posting "common entry points" is sufficient for an area to be legally posted. If you have trespass issues, they will just take down the signs anyway. Keep in mind that it won't be long until that clear cut grows up enough to use small trees around the perimeter.

Along Jack's comments - you need to understand how the law is enforced in the area. Some require the sign to be X high and spaced at Y distance and visible from Z distance and the like and along the entire perimeter of the property, while others only require posting at "access points". And like Jack said, folks will simply pull them down, when given the chance. Somewhere I recall seeing a sleeve that slid over T-posts - not exactly cheap. Some states also use the "purple" paint law as well.

On our leases, we normally just find small hardwood saplings and staple the Tyvek signs (in a roll) to them for the first few years on a cutover. They are cheap and we re-staple and replace the signs every few years.

We’ve also used the Voss signs and on areas with no trees, drove a t-post and used a handheld hole punch and punched two holes on top and two on bottom and looped zip ties thru to secure to the tposts.

None of these ways prevent people from pulling the signs down, but are reasonably easy and a cheap way to post leased land.

*We use Arrow T50 staple guns with 1/2” staples.
