Plot Question

For any of you ag guys - what would be a good thing to plant in with grain sorghum that'll thrive and not get overwhelmed by the sorghum ?? ( Spring planting. ) The plot is somewhat visible from a road, so the grain sorghum would be some cover / screening for any deer feeding in the plot. Thanks.

I wouldn't necessarily call myself an "ag" guy even though I'm around it plenty, lol, but I would look into something like 4010 field peas. They would certainly use the sorghum for climbing structure and maybe the sorghum will offer enough protection to keep them from being overbrowsed to the dirt.

I just drilled a mix of sorghum, yellow forage pea, soybean, and black oil sunflower. I haven't planted this mix before but I'm hoping it will produce cover and food for both deer and pheasants.

Thanks guys, for the info. Peas sound like a good choice. It's a spring / summer plot to feed & grow the deer.
