Planting Red Osier Dogwood near septic mound?

Can you plant ROD near your septic mound? I know the roots dont grow deep, but they do spread outwards. I am just wondering if I planted them near my septic wil I regret it. A little research onine tells me you can, and you cant, just depends on the article you read.

I have a deer stand that is less then 50 yards from my mound system, so I figured it would be a decent place to plant some.

I am getting tired of planting trees this year, and I just got my order of white cedars, and Black Hills Spruce today. Let the fun continue!

If I had several thousand dollars tied up in a mound system I would probably plant grass on it and keep it mowed to prevent roots from causing me expensive issues to resolve. Just my thoughts maybe the ROD isn’t going to cause issues just not sure I’d roll the dice on a maybe.

Real issue with the ROD may not even have anything to do with it except what other trees will grow in amongst it with time that would be much easier to control with regular mowing.
