I received a great looking Reliance peach this spring. The only problem was it was leafing out already when it came. I planted it that day. About 3 weeks later all the leaves fell off. I was sure it died and was going to pull it out just didn't get around to it. Now another 3 weeks it has all new leaves growing on most branches. Is this normal?

It's a miracle!
But seriously, i suspect the roots were damaged and could not support the leaves so they died. Once the roots re-established and started to grow and produce sustainance and secondary buds were able to grow. Fruit trees have secondary buds; like "back-up" buds in case of trauma.
