Missouri plot surprisingly good shape!

my farm is in central Missouri and I showed up Saturday thinking I'd see dust and would plant some rye as an emergency plot. My 3 acre turnip radish and rape looks pretty good. A little weedy but I am pleased. I had 250 pounds of rye so I went ahead and spread it all in the thin spots. I have a two acre rye plot across the creek and I put half down over there. I have been planting buckwheat rye and turnips for about nine years. I'm thinking it must have improved the moisture holding capacity of the soil as it's been dry here.

I had enough time to put a nice couple sticks of walnut on the old saw mill.

Looks good. You may have caught a stray shower or two just right also.

Good news! We have missed out on all the rain. I've got nothing but dust. Hopefully this cold front will bring a little moisture for us. It looks like you'll have a nice fall draw. Keep us posted.
