Those look just like the trumpets we find in WI. They are really good just cooked with butter. Trumpets have a lot of flavor, I rank them just as good as morels. They can be dried in a dehydrator and put in a food processor and made into a mushroom powder and added to many things for flavor. They are often used as a cheap version of the truffle's( the ones that go for thousands of dollars). I have seen them used as breading on fish, and also cooked and tossed in a cool salad. I have looked for them a couple of times this year, but only found ones from last year. They usually grow right out of clumps of moss.
