I know Primos cameras do not have the best track record, but apparently that has changed, according to trailcampro dot com. I am looking at the Primos Truth Cam Ultra 46 HD (red flash) http://www.trailcampro.com/primostruthcamultra46hdreview.aspx and the Supercharged Blackout HD (black flash) http://www.trailcampro.com/primossuperchargedblackouthdreview.aspx

According to reviews on both cameras, you will see trailcampro states:

____________
"Previous Primos cameras definitely had durability issues. From both our own return rate and the feedback from other customers, the quality control on 2013 and earlier model Primos cameras rated low. However, Primos switched manufacturing plants and it is paying dividends. This years Primos cameras have been very durable with minimal returns. Even if you have had past problems with Primos cameras, it would be unfair to hold that against this camera."

Also, Primos is currently offering a $30 mail-in rebate that includes both of these models.

On Amazon, the price for the red flash cam is $102 ($72) after rebate and the black flash is $139 ($109 after rebate).

I am going to order one of each. It is limited to one rebate per person, so Dad will actually be ordering one of them. ;)

Also, I have a $110 gift card balance at Amazon from the last time I cashed in my change jar at the coinstar machine!

Good luck and let us know how they hold up!

Primos is now owned by Bushnell......whom seems to know stuff about optics and cameras. They sure never did any good for the brands they got from me.....but then they can't know it all.

OTOH....Bushy buys all their products, engineers none that I know of.....and makes nothing themselves. They are simply "brands" and re-sellers of stuff they buy. Most everything is off-shore made and branded for them.

Primos is owned by Bushnell now. So maybe they have improved their cameras.

Good luck with them and as said before let us know how they work for you.

Bushnell was purchased by ATK.

Oh yeah....I did hear that a few months back. Duh. Lots of consolidation taking place in the shooting products world.

Thanks guys, interesting stuff. I've been looking around at trail cams for a couple months now, debating on which brand to jump in with. With the good reviews on trailcampros and the rebate, I figure at these prices I'll give Primos a try. I'll let you all know what I find.

I have been considering one myself and also heard they have made improvements. Heard current stealth cams are pretty good as well. Time will tell

Picked up a primos pro.35 camera from Meijer a month ago. all hunting stuff was half off, paid $44.00.
