Grass for road

I'm not sure this fits into the 'foodplot' thread but I think people checking things out here might have the best info.

I have a road that we had some gravel/clay/silt/sand put on to help it out. I'd like to put grass seed on it to help firm things up. Any thoughts on what types of grass seed would work best? This is zone 3 if that helps. The road gets a little traffic but not a lot. Mostly shady to partial sun.

Our roads end up with naive buffalo grass on them. Everything else dies out with regular traffic while the buffalo does great.
