Goose Hunt!

Had a very good goose hunt a couple of weeks ago with the chicks! We ended up with about 80 snow geese. We are thinking brats this time with all the meat. Already have plenty of goose beer sticks and summer sausage, what else could a guy make with the meat? Open to suggestions.

Chunk it and can some?

Cube it, Marinade it, wrap it in cheap bacon, and grill it on kabobs. Awesome!!

Looks like a blast!

Jerky.

My suggestion is make sure they clean them.

JERKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to go to ND with 3-4 other guys and when we got home, they gave me every goose we shot.
I spent countless hours slicing, marinating and dehydrating snow goose jerky.

My coworkers were the beneficiaries of many many pounds of snacks over the years.

Can't go wrong with the brats. 50% snow goose/50% pork trimmings, seasonings to taste.

Make them every year

I've shot and eaten a lot of waterfowl.

Snow goose?

Get a big fire going.
Get an old tire.
Pack the snow geese tightly into the tire.
Put the tire on the fire until it's smoking and starting to melt.
Pull it off and let it cool.
Take the snow geeses out and toss them.

EAT the tire!!!!

Bill - my grandfather had a similar recipe on cooking and eating carp. It involved an oven and a piece of 2 x 8 (treated or untreated - depending on your taste).

Never had snow goose. Gotta love waterfowling in shorts!
