GardePro Cell Cams

HoosierHunter07

A good 3 year old buck
Does anyone have any feedback on the GardePro cell cams? I've seen a few guys mention getting them, but haven't seen any reviews yet. I like their standard SD cams. I don't have any cell cams yet and I'm ready to give some a try. I really like the idea of Cuddelinks, but I want videos.

I have 5 of the x66 cameras. I like them. 3 of them have the solar panels. They have been running for a couple months now. If they get lots of sun they will keep charged. If the sun is filtered, then you'd probably want to run them on picture only mode. I have a couple in hybrid mode, which sends me a video like set of pictures, then I can request the HD video with sound if I want it. The first few I bought were around $75 and that included the solar panel. I would say the only thing I don't like is the app doesn't have a place to store/sort pictures into galleries. So, I have just been saving them in albums on my phone. The only other thing I have concerns about is the proprietary removable lithium battery, I have a few extra so hopefully I will be good, but I would like the ability to use AA if needed. Other than that I am impressed and plan on phasing out my tactacams.

I didn't realize they take a special battery. That's a pretty big turn off for me.

I've had one of thier earlier models (X50) out for about a year and a half without problem. Photo quality on par with tactacam (example below). On thier website, they currently have the newer version (X66) as one of thier black friday specials for $50.40 (with code OFFER20 also applied).

I’m going to solar panels more & more . Sick of the battery issues.

Bummer about the proprietary batteries. I won't buy those.

Someone explain these data plans to me like I'm an idiot. Their basic plan says 500 photos or 5000s video preview, which would be shared by 2 cameras in my case. So I can't set one to pics and the other to videos? What does 5000s video preview even mean?

I have several of the X60P's and the new X66. I like the 60's so far better. The batteries you have to remember are lithium. I haven't run them yet through a winter. Which lithium should shine in the cold. The pics sent to your phone are 100% better and clear then Tactacam. I'm also a live view person as I like to check before I get to my blinds. You also have to pay attention to what solar panel runs which cameras. I have the cheaper solar panels as my cams are in full sun. They are still at 100% battery. I think the video preview sent to your phone counts as 10 pictures. Hands down they will catch more pictures. If they will keep holding up I will be replacing all my Tactacams. I will also be keeping my Cuddeback cams as they have a place with cheaper plans.

I was ready to make an order thru their site until I noticed the note about duties and taxes. I have a feeling these will have a tariff on then when they arrive. Probably going to stick with Amazon. At least I know the actual cost.

Good to know. I was planning an order myself, but will rethink it. Where did you see the duties reference?

Below is the response to an e-mail I sent Gardepro regrading additional shipping cost (duties etc) for orders placed from thier website.
