Hey Don'tWorry, where can I find some info on this class. Sounds interesting!

Jackson County extension site. You can also call them.

I'm super excited to go to this as I've been looking for a grafting class for the last two years. They are always over by Milwaukee or Madison. I went to a pruning workshop that the extension did. You can imagine my surprise when they talked about doing this grafting workshop too.

I don't suppose anyone has a spare rootstock or two?

Thanks for the info! I am going to give them a shout tomorrow! From the flyer, it seems like there might be a rootstock or two included? I'll keep you posted what I find out!

I still want to thank Dan for the one had for us last year.

I'd be really surprised if there aren't grafting workshops put on somewhere within an hour or so drive from you. MI has LOTS of orchards as well as a great Extension system.

I agree, gotta be something.

Try hitting up the university "Contact Us". http://apples.msu.edu/

I'm going to look into MSU and see if they have any programs like that. I'd be REALLY interested in the IPM.

I'd never checked out their site for some reason, but they have a significant amount of resources!

Let us fellow michiganders know of your findings....

You're welcome, oh I guess he meant a Dan that knows apples..........

There is one in the winter that you have to pay quite a bit for (over $100). They have a lot of good links though.

State University websites have untold amounts of resources and are largely unused by the general public. We pay for much of the research through taxes anyway, so we might as well get as much as we can from the resource. A lot of the research papers are very scholarly and technical, but many of the other "publications" that they produce and distribute through the university extension service offices are made so that everyday folks can understand the material. There really isn't a better resource anywhere on the web than the information we can get from our university systems. Sometimes the info is hard to find and equally hard to understand, but it is there and it is free for all. And it is what the internet was originally designed for! Facebook, ppffftt, waste of bandwidth!

I've used them from other universities, I'd just never looked at MSU's! As a "backyard grower" I find that a lot of the info they put out is really great for me learning general things.
