Forum Screen Different this morning

The Forum Page is different this morning to what I am used to seeing. On the right, top side I see a button to customize, which seems to do nothing and another one to do dark mode. The symbol that shows alerts such as private message, replies to messages, and likes is not visible anywhere. I can no longer find those alerts anywhere. Anyone else seeing this? Any fix?

Update - The above "like" from Buck made it reappear, but after I looked at it the alerts button it disappeared again. It appears that if you wanted to go back and look at an old Private Message you would have to find another way to do it.

I just discovered something else - the button is still there, but you can't see it unless you have a new alert. Click at the right spot and the old alerts will pop up.

Hover over the blank space and when you get to the right spot, a tab will pop up that says "inbox."

Xenforo (the creator of the forum software) did some software updates last night. We were actually down for a bit. Hopefully they get the bugs worked out. I host with them and have them do all the backend maintenance and automatic updates. Much easier than having to relearn the software once a year. But nothing comes without glitches....

The whole site was down this morning. It said "server error". When it came back, the top menu was all scrunched and hard to see and tap on my tablet and phone. I'm sure they'll sort it out.

OK Bill....remember, this question is coming from a Nimrod....but how are the forum software fees covered?

I understand there are forum software options like phpBB available that are free to use, but they usually incur some costs for hosting and customization.

So I used to use Xenforo software on godaddy’s hosting site. But anytime there was a problem one would point at the other.

Last year I went exclusively with Xenforo. Hosted on their server, auto updates etc. 30 years ago I could write code. Today not so much.

I pay for everything for fun. Furthering the cause without a bunch of paid BS advertising influence. Might be more out spite for the QDMA that had to change it’s name to NDA then anything.

This last update has me pulling my hair out. Everything is code and I’m old :).
