I was super excited to see this!!! Woohoo!

Spotted an apple tree near my house in a persons yard that was absolutely loaded and I was very impressed with the tree.

The owner didn't have any info but he did say I could come back and take some cuttings.

Long story short, I stopped by in the winter and grabbed a few scions and then grafted them on to some of my trees and it looks like it worked.

Look out now you will have the grafting bug. I did 20 bench grafts last year 35 this year along with quite a few bark grafts. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the resulting trees but I already had close to 80 fruit trees just cought the grafting bug myself the last couple years it’s fun. I did lateral bark graft a couple weeks ago that I’m super excited to see if it takes.

Nice job! Grafting opens up a whole new world of possibilities. I still suck at it, but I have just enough successes to keep me coming back for more. Well done, keep at it!
