Fallen down switch.

Since Aug. 20th we've had 7"+ of rain and a couple good storms one with straight line winds and a lot of my switch grass is laying down. Question is will this stand back up or is this the way it's going to be going into the fall and winter? I've never had it do this before.

Before it was 5-6' and now 2-3' laying down.

What variety of switch is that?

Cave n Rock

My CIR usually stands back up relatively well once it loses it's green.

Cave in Rock has fairly sturdy stems compared to some other varieties, I would think it would bounce back as long as the deluges stop for a while. You keep getting pi$$ pounded with rain, maybe not so much.

Wow!
In the 8 - 10 years I’ve had CIR I’ve never seen that.

You must have gotten some serious rain and wind.

I've been growing it for 6-7 yrs and haven't seen it either. We've had enough rain for awhile.

I’m having a similar problem due to high winds. Some that I mowed this spring doesn’t seem to be doing it as much.

Never seen switch do that. Be sure to let us know what happens.

PS: When Big Blue goes down like that, it is down for the rest of the season.

Will do.

That's looking better. You may want to mow them some trails through it.

Looks like right back to normal. Pretty amazing actually.

That does look good. Pretty picture all around. My switch goes down every summer. I just thought it was normal.
