Epsom Salt, Anyone Use it

Got to thinking today before I head out to water trees.

Im debating dissolving in 1 Tbls Epsom Salt in each 5 gail pail/tree.
Most info I could find read to dissolve in 2 Tbls per 9 cubic ft of water. 3 times a year.

I was thinking about cutting that rate in half and spacing it out a couple weeks in between.
These are first leaf trees so I also wanted to be extra cautious.

I know it helps in the garden increasing overall nutrient help, thus increasing overall plant health and in the end helping to keep disease or fungi out during a weakened state during periods of prolonged hot and dry weather. i.e like blossom end rot on tomatoes.

So what sa ye old fruit masters... smart, dumb or in-between somewhere

well, I must be the only one

will let u know in about two weeks on the results

I have read about the benefits of it just recently but havent used it.

If you're more clay, I'd use gypsum.

Been blessed in the soil department. The topsoil is about a foot an half deep of heavy rich loam. Digging holes for trees is like busting sod for the first time.

......OK......gotta ask.....

Where did the moniker,"trampled by turtles" come from?

luv it

When I was in college, my favorite bluegrass band came around regularly on a local level. Seen them 6-7 times. Then they blew up and imo have gone downhill, sad deal. Haven't been to a show since. But still a good listen.

Know bluegrass isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like it and have to say they did some pretty mean picking!

Grew up listening to the likes of Monroe, Scruggs& Flatt, and the Stanley brothers but failed to keep up with newer bluegrass artists over the years. Don't know exactly how to put in words why, but one "newgrass" band I heard a few years back that struck a chord (pun intended :emoji_wink:) is The 23 String Band.

And so don't derail the thread too much, will say epsom use down FL way is pretty common to address leaf yellowing, especially so with citrus and muscadines / scuppernongs. I've used it from time to time as need be. Little bit goes a long way.

It works well on painful ingrown toenails :emoji_thumbsup:
