Virginia , I believe most were potted kieffers from Lowes or Kroger . They were loaded and either they dropped or squirrels / crows or other varmits knocked them off. I did see a lot on the ground and I'd say they were all gone by the 4 th of July thereabouts . The Dr Deer still is still loaded....This is the first year for a major crop on the Dr Deer ... Maybe the crows and Squirrels haven't noticed them yet.

Keiffers are great pears, tasty for us and the wildlife really like them. They hang into late October early Nov for me here.
If you want to graft any later hanging pears I can send you some scions off some good late ones. They will stay on into late fall early winter even for you further south.

Maybe my Keiffers dropped early because of the extreme drought we had ? or crows or squirrels knocked them off. All I know is there isn't any more on the trees. I just planted 2 Keiffers from The Wildlife group this year along with 2 Gilmer Christmas and 4 Wildlife pears. So thanks for the offer , but I think I'm pretty good with what I have..for now. In my plot itself I have 2 Dr Deer pears , 4 Wildlife pears , 1 Gilmer Christmas , 1 Keiffer , and I have 2 Doube-D pears ordered from Bolu for my plot in 2025.
Besides that I have probably close to a dozen pear trees in the yard....1 Gilmer Christmas ,1 Moonglow and the rest are Keiffers

I just picked my keiffers. Most were just getting ripe, could have let hang a little longer, but we just jarred a bunch as well as made a lot of pear jam.

I have DR Deer grafted onto a larger tree but it hasn’t fruited yet maybe next year it will. I ordered from Wildlife Group last year and they shipped me 6 extra Gilmore Xmas trees many of those have survived and a late drop pear package if I remember correctly. I look forward to seeing how they do for me.

Wow that's cool you got 6 extra trees !. I planted 2 Gilmer Christmas pears and 4 wildlife pears this spring from the Wildlife group.
I will watch them a couple years to see which thrives here the best, before ordering more. TWG Railroad Pear and gate pear sound like winners also.

I would be very skeptical of TWG, they will switch your order no questions asked if they are out of stock without checking with you at all. Or send you tiny 8” trees when you paid for 2’-3’ ones, Then send you trees you didn’t want or won’t work in your zone and couldn’t give a crap about what you ordered. I think Allan Dee’s runs the place, he is a complete tool.
No different than ordering a pair of men’s shoes size 12 and they send you a pair of women’s size six…and that is EXACTLY how they do business. Buyer beware with TWG! I think their business billing name is Becks Turf Supply or something like that. Check their Better Business Bureau complaints.
Just to be fair, I have ordered from them probably 10 times over the years and have had good luck with them. Basically I got what I ordered and it was a good product. I appreciate hearing about the poor performance because it could be me next and it will make me more cautious. I want to buy seedling Chinese Chestnuts and Sawtooth Oaks in volume and I cannot find others offering at their low price per seedling. So I will probably continue using them and others until I get burned because I have many trees from them that are doing well. With that said, can anyone recommend another choice that I can buy sawtooth and Chinese chestnut seedlings for 3 or 4 bucks each and fair shipping? I am definitely more loyal to my pocket book than a store

I had ordered from them multiple times also. Placed a good size order with them last fall and when the trees came in March over half were wrong, either not the size I ordered or not even the trees I had ordered.
I immediately called them to see what had gone wrong, didn’t get an answer so left a message…a couple of times. My wife finally got through and Mr Dees was rude to her, actually laughed at her over the phone. Told her they have the right to substitute at their discretion? Even though the purchase order that was with the shipment listed everything I had ordered and it didn’t match what I received.
I also sent a couple emails to Mr Dees informing him of my dissatisfaction with the order and why and that I had shipped his trees back within a week of receiving them. He sent a snarky email back confirming that he had received them.
Never received a refund…so then it was Better Business Bureau and chasing them for my money back…took four months.
I’ve never heard of a nursery ever substituting like that, or really any business selling anything doing that.
Again…Buyer Beware with TWG!

I’ve ordered from TWG a couple times not been unhappy with what I’ve received. Substitutions are not really that uncommon in the nursery trade in my experience but it does annoy me also when it does happen. The AU buck seedling chestnuts I ordered a couple years ago where grown in a air pruning pot system and had great root systems the just normal Chinese chestnuts I ordered where not air pruned and had acceptable roots but nothing like the AU Buck trees had. They were the only game in town for the AU Buck trees if memory serves me and I wanted to try those particular trees.

I would consider just buying some Chinese chestnut seeds and planting them yourself. Most of the seedlings I have seen for sale or planted have been nothing to write home about and I can get the same growth or better by direct seeding or growing them in containers started indoors in early spring.
