Darn Weedy Food Plot

Damn that’s a stud buck !

Where's Don???

He would be telling you that deer will eat what we think are undesirable plants. Those tall stems give deer some cover and comfort that might just keep them walking through during hunting hours. Considering they are in there, why mess with it? You're not planning on putting a pic of that field on a bag of seed are you?

- I said it 'cause I haven't seen him on here in a while.

Down here in the normally hot, dry summertime south - the “weeds” protect my clover from the sun - to some extent - and prolong its productivity in the summer. You do have to keep an eye on the weeds, though, to make sure horsenettle, cocklebur, dock, marsh elder, or some other undesirable doesnt take over.

I'm surrounded on 3 sides by 150 acres of beans, but he comes to that weedy plot first thing in the afternoon at least half the time.
I'd throw in the towel, Native. There's something wrong with that buck .......... eating weeds instead of only pretty beans .................
