The usual suspects have popped up again with no data, but lots of ifs and buts.

There's now groundwork to quarantine the entire food supply between bird flu and CWD.

From that article..

"In the report funded by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, experts also warn the disease could spread to humans via infected deer that are caught by hunters."

Are you guys holding out on me?
How does one legally catch a deer?
Can it be released once caught?

That's a next level sport if you ask me..

It's always Dr. Osterholm isn't it. I'll be the first to admit I'm not highly cultured, but are there people eating raw pork out there?

"Both pork and venison are normally cooked before consumption"

If the report was funded by the MN DNR, just disregard it.

You gotta have 400 lb test line and can expect to fight that deer for the better part of a day. I've found that they bite on white oak acorns the best. Once you set the hook it's on!

Should add that any deer caught with any visual spots must be released.

It's also the UK Daily Mail, which is far from a highly regarded source for accurate/truthful stories.

Meh, they scared us with the same 25 years ago. Meanwhile my neighbor at the time did full time buckskin brain tanning 50 yards from my back door. I kept a close eye on him, he was crazy to start with and there was no real change, so its all good.

I don't know what species that deer was but would like to see him try that with a 4.5 year old kansas buck.Or better yet how about we tit his hands on there with some baling wire.I would be betting on the buck

Looks like a Columbia black tail.

These people act like they want cwd to cross over to humans

After thinking about it, that guy may have been doing the right thing. That is obviously a town deer and is used to getting handfed by little old ladies. It's usually not a good thing to feed wildlife and they can create problems. Hazing animals is standard practice, and I would be after that wrestling match that deer is a little less hesitant to take candy from strangers.
