Cultipacker / Roller / Crimper small tractor / ATV

Kind of throwing around building or buying a cultipacker type implement. Soil moisture for new plantings hasn't been much of a problem for me, so the deep compaction / water channels of a cultipacker. For now, and ATV will be the tow vehicle. Looking to pick up a bukota BX tractor in a year or two.

Option 1. this guy 4ft wide. Haggling him down from $400 The one in the pic.

Option 2. Making my own. Got a 14" culvert pipe I can use. Got a decent shaft / bearings / and decent angle iron.

Option 3 MAxx cultipacker. Plastic tank. Likely only use water. Heard from a few online it needs more weigh from sand instead. Can get used for $550

Option 4 Commercial 3ft 24" diameter water filled roller. $225 very well built.....

At home, Ill probably make something heavy / concrete filled.

At camp, I am looking to make stuff farther in from the road. So, I need something I can either drive in on my rear rack, or has transport wheels. Either case, I need to fill with water or add weight ontop of cultipacker to make it work. The ride in out back is rough, go over rocks, water crossings, mud, log skidder ruts sometimes 2ft deep. The maxx and the one in the pic I can likely get in. I can try to make one, fill it with concrete at the site and leave it there too.

Buy that cultipacker in the pic. It appears to be a Dunham pup. Always worth the money IMO. Those others do work....but the cultipacker shown will work better and likely last far longer.

the 4' cultipacker is a no brainer.

Bought tht one over the summer. 2 pieces are broker, so it'll be about 3.5ft. Bought pillow block bearings for it too.
