China trade war hunting / food plot buys?

Same in salt water. We change out most of the trebles to single hooks. Single hooks are stronger. And lots easier to get out of a flopping fish.

Bill curious why use a barrel swivel on the back hook instead of a split ring so the hook point is down. Does it run down with barrel swivel?

I am not sure it matters if it runs down. On that style lure, I have seen many fish break water surface and come down from the top on that bait. Especially tuna, and more than a few hooters and mahi.

^^^^ like SwapCat says. They smash it anyway. A spinning hook doesn’t affect the lure action as much and after the hook up a big fish gets no leverage off the lure to help pull the hook.

We run these things up to 15 knots for wahoo.

Bill what is the cost of that lure? How often do the fish destroy them. Your salt water fish have some much more power than fresh water

The 6 1/2 inch ones are about $30. 8 1/2 are $40. They will run a long time and take some serious abuse.

Not my pic but here are some seasoned Wahoo lures. Mouth full of razor blades. Guys get hurt every year just messing with dead ones.

We do run some treble hooks. The only plus to a treble is if a fish pins his mouth shut it drowns. Much quicker to get to the boat 😆
