Buffalo grass seed?

I want to seed my yard to Buffalo. I've found some seed locally but I suspect it's priced a little high.

Does anyone have experience with Buffalo grass and do you guys know of a good source to buy it?

Stock Seed Farm, Murdock NE. They have a website. My brother seeded his yard last year with the newest cultivar and I was very impressed with how his stand looked at the end of the summer. About 15 years ago I seeded parts of my yard and didnt get the kind of stand I was looking for. However, I didnt give it the care it needed the first 2 years and weeds took hold a bit. Treat it like you would a fescue lawn the first couple of years with good weed control, timely fertilizer and watering and I think you will be very happy in the long run.

I looked Stock Seed farms up and they have a good selection, and decent prices as long as shipping isn't a killer.

Do you know which one you brother used? It probably doesn't matter as I will call them with my specs and go with their recommendations.

I'm going to call Crazy Ed's dad also to see what they recommend.

He planted "Sundancer". I think shipping has been fairly reasonable when I have ordered a variety of things in the past.

I think there is a 10% discount on all orders over $100 in March.

Sundancer was the one I was considering. 10% would be nice! I may have to go ahead and get with them soon.
