Posting a true bucket list trail camera capture today. This one shares the prehistoric sounds of a wild male alligator bellowing his mating call along the edge of a pond I share with two neighbors. With modern alligators existing much in the same form for the past 8 million years and with crocodilian ancestors dating back to 200 million years ago I believe the sound is fairly labeled as prehistoric! By comparison, archaic man's only around for 300 thousand years or so.
Watch closely and you'll see the call appears to work too, as a second set of eyes appear in the final seconds of the video... not sure if he called in a mate or foe, but he DID get some attention!
