Box blind stand placement

I'm moving two of my banks tower blinds, which is costing me some coin to move. Would you rather have the blind upwind wind and them not cut your track coming into bedding their or downwind with them cutting your track getting into and out of bedding.( Some what of a rut funnel) I've debated this way too much in my mind I wanted opinions.

Downwind for sure. I'm fortunate that I can access all sides of my property from the perimeter neighbors.

I took a deep dive on scent this week. Undoubtedly zero question, downwind. They can cut my track all day long and I can get away with. I will never get away with a deer upwind

Downwind for sure but the thing is drive as close to where you hunt as is reasonably possible. The closer the better. The less your walking around the better. 200 yards would be max I will walk to get in any blind of mine and some 30 feet. The truck dies not bother anything and it spooks them way less than you walking around. I know I will get ridiculed but also your scent is reduced substantially. I could walk a mile back and sweat and stink and its a waste of time.

Thanks all... Going to put it where I originally had thought downwind, I started over thinking , and keep telling myself the blind would contain my scent. I have an electric bike would you dry the bike up to the blind and just leave it under it or drive it down 30 yards downwind and walk back to stand?

From observation the big guys like to slip in-between my two possible stand locations.

If it’s hidden and you won’t spook them by sight or sound, I see no problem parking it at the stand. I would be a little nervous getting out in the evening if it’s a food source and having to hop on a bike to slip out unless I had a hell of a screen I can be a lot sneakier on foot than my e bike. That thing can somehow sound like a Harley when it’s dark and dead quiet.

Dog I will say I set up all my stands where I can park within 100 yards to get in and out by truck. When I walk the 200 yards to my far blind I will only hunt in the morning there I believe the noise and scent are a major problem I will leave the swamp and drive and park in the field at 50 feet in a evergreen screen for the night hunt. I hunt the fields at night and the swamp in the morning

Also because of my stand placements I am able to keep 80 percent of my property a sanctuary and never access any of it. This to me is your number 1 goal.

Upwind, without a doubt. That's the whole point of hunting out of a box blind.

There are no blinds that will contain your scent 100%. Some days you can get by as the scent is rising. Calm evenings stink as the thermals take your scent down. With a 10 mph wind or greater sometimes you can get by better as it seems your scent goes over the top of the deer. Temps also play a role. Colder better.

Just from the crowns of the trees between the bottom pin and the pond, that looks like it could be good cover for bedding. I don't know if I'd put a blind that close that I couldn't get in or out without bulletproof access to it. If it's just a travel corridor, I'd put it downwind of the trail.

Without a doubt I'd ride the bike right to the blind. The sound of riding a bike, then dismounting, then walking is a lot different than the single sound of staying on the bike. Also with a bike you'll have less possibilities for leaving the ground scent you're worried about.

Not always true. A vehicle went down the gravel road at the top of the hill above my farm. It's almost a half mile from me and a doe when I was hunting. She turned inside out, running into the cover. It all depends how use to traffic your deer are. My farm is in a remote area, down a dead end road.

Swat. Deer are lazy yeah she ran but most likely less than a hundred yards. In 15 minutes she has already forgotten and moved on with life. Honestly I believe your putting way to much into this. I am back 3/4 of a mile and they see my truck and some will stand and watch and go back to what they are doing
