    7-30 Waters?

Funny you say that, My "brush gun" in a Marlin 1895 45-70 18" I bear hunted with it, and now is used in my bow stands in thicker cover during rifle season. Where things tend to happen fast and near the base of the tree. I like a scope that goes down to near one power for those conditions. I put...

    7-30 Waters?

25-06 Is one cartridge that I have never played with, but everyone who has one seems to love it.

    7-30 Waters?

I agree, with my 270 the 130 grain has always been the best option for me, I'm going to start the 7-30 with 120gr bullets, deer are not elk I don't need high SD or BC for my farm shooting them inside 150yards. But I do like Partitions in my 270 for nostalgic reasons.

    7-30 Waters?

Your right, a 30-30 especially with leverevolution powder and its gummy tipped bullets would probably be what I would have put together for me. Probably in an AI chamber for a few more grains avaliable. But this is for my 10 year old daughter and my primary requirement was low recoil. So...

    Lithium camera batteries AA. Ouch!!

I bought for my camera batteries a few months ago at Costco their 48 pack Kirkland AA's were on sale for $9.50, so I bought 4 packs. They are not great batteries about the same a Duracell but affordable to switch them out. I gave up on Lithium also.

    7-30 Waters?

I'm a bit of a Gun Nut and a 7-08 is my next build, I have a Short 700 rem action stashed away for one in the safe, just have not found the right barrel yet. I want a 20" with a fluted straight taper in an ADL blind magazine, that will probably turn into her gun someday. May try a RemAge...

    Who are you?

Yes, and the little community my Farm is in is called Whiteoak Indiana. We set at the edge of the big timber and state land to the south and AG land to the north. I have a lot of Whiteoak and Redoak on my land. But I talked about Whiteoak alot when I was younger and got the Nickname Whiteoak...

    7-30 Waters?

I have a box of the 130gr Speer Hot Cores that I may load up also, but I don't have any experience with them in 7mm. I choose the Nosler for my trial run because of experience with the BT's in other calibers and like you said they seem to work well above their weight class on Whitetails. I...

    20 year top five …..

Yes, he crosses over 2nd one like that in the last 7 years we have gotten tags on, so we call them Kings. for the crown appearance. They both carried a lot of mass out to the tips also? Here is a game camera photo of one we tagged, got this photo from a neighbor I had no photos on the hoof...

?? - Difference Between Patriot and Durana Clovers

I am still mixed with my feelings on Durana but I'm trying to keep an open mind. I have had clover for over 30 years on my plots. A local seed company started a mix of White Dutch, Ladino, Medium Red and Chicory. (Shout out to Wyatt seed in Petersburg Indiana an their Hoosier Trophy Clover...

    20 year top five …..

I have been on my land for 35 years, and you nailed it. If I had a #5 it would be water. 3 of our largest bucks have been taken at a pond. We have 3 on our place and during a drought when creeks are dry, that doe that is getting tended will go to water and bring the buck with her. She is...

Looking for ground in Ohio, Kentucky…., or a micro property about anywhere a mature buck my roam

The Property I see selling now is not old intact tracts, but sections of "unused" farm ground in my area (Southern Indiana). Farmers with acreage that is untillable that will part with for some much needed cash flow. Or a CRP field that got away from them, and they don't want to hire equipment...

    Chain saw mount for tractor

Great idea, I have bush hogged a nice Stihl saw in a case that had a single bungie attempting to hold it on. Came off the back of the Kubota and made a heck of a sound as it was dismantled and chucked out the back. You can still find little orange plastic bits on that part of the trail 5 years...

    7-30 Waters?

I agree, It took me one shot without hearing protection on a friends 18" 30-06 with a break several years ago to swear off muzzle breaks forever... I will live with recoil and keep my hearing LOL I spent the extra $ on her barrel to have it threaded, just in case she needs a suppresser down the...
