I have several trees (chestnut and sawtooth) that have lichen on the bark. They are not shaded trees either. Any indication on what this means? Most are growing ok, although some of them are slower growing, thick trunks but not much height.
Anyone see this with their trees?
Thank you! This is what I was looking for. If you think I will use that much it would be easier to buy a bail. I did not think I would use that much but you know better than me.
Thanks again,
T
I have about 12 rootmaker starter pots (18's). I do not want to order a large bale of the medium because its expensive and I will not use much at all. So my question is: are there any alternatives that are readily available at stores? 2) Is there a good mix to make? I have tried in the past but...
You know, I had great result on propagating these. I just cold stratified like chestnuts. The one problem was growing them in pots. they really like well drained soil. Its a hard thing to watch, not over watering and not under watering.
I think you got your a year after I did? I have had them for about 3 yrs? I have I think about 8. 3 are big, 5 are still only about 3-4 ft but do produce. I need to put down weed protection, they get absolutely covered by weeds.
They are not selling them anymore? Some of mine are doing great, some others are alive but not really takign off. Maybe I need to start babying them more!! Mine did produce this year.
