I didn’t record the year I planted. I have since started a journal for recording these things.
But I think it’s 3 years old now.
It’s only about 3 foot tall.
I have just heard that the DCO is a fast producer and I already have a lot of white oak and swamp chestnut oak.
Thought I may could top work a few with DCO just to see if it would produce fast.
We don’t have the chinkapin here as far as I know but I have planted some. They are still young...

Was wondering if anyone has ever grafted trees in the white oak family?
Curios if you could graft a Dwarf Chinkipin Oak onto a white oak rootstock.
Not sure if there would even be a benefit or...
My Brother moved to KY and we were planning to hunt together but it didn’t work during Oct-Nov.
So the only time we can pull it off is the last week of Archery in January.
Does anyone have any experience on what the late season is like and what to expect?

We have been fortunate to have several good hatches the last few years. It really helps that I can hunt several different WMA’s. The habitat and turkey population on the WMA’s has stayed relatively stable.
On the local tracts I can hunt we only take a few birds per year.
