I didn’t record the year I planted. I have since started a journal for recording these things. But I think it’s 3 years old now. It’s only about 3 foot tall.

I have just heard that the DCO is a fast producer and I already have a lot of white oak and swamp chestnut oak. Thought I may could top work a few with DCO just to see if it would produce fast. We don’t have the chinkapin here as far as I know but I have planted some. They are still young...

We have been fortunate to have several good hatches the last few years. It really helps that I can hunt several different WMA’s. The habitat and turkey population on the WMA’s has stayed relatively stable. On the local tracts I can hunt we only take a few birds per year.
