Thanks for everyone's reassurance. I'm going to give it a shot with not tilling. That will save me from having to pay someone to till it, which should cover most of my seed and fertilizer for the year. It has me questioning if I'll really need a tractor. We'll see how it goes. Thanks!

I don't get to visit my fruit trees often. I think I'm going to drench my young fruit trees early next year with imidacloprid. That should give a seasons worth of protection.

How long ago did you plant the trees? If there's air pockets I think it just won't grow roots right there. If you can get water to the trees, fill the hole with water and things should settle
