    fishing reports

that sounds like a good time! The only other thing you needed was Troy Landry hollering "shoot em shoot em!"

Building a coyote & hog black rifle...

Your story is the about the same as mine. My son and I have shot so many hogs that we quit keeping count, but I'd guess maybe 30-50 a year for 5 years or so, and most of them shot during the daytime. We realized we still were not making a big impact on their numbers, and the only way to keep...

Forward facing sonar - fishing tech

What I meant by noise was the underwater clicking noise sonar's usually make I used to spend quite a bit of time striper fishing. Ran into a guide who told me he rarely uses his sonar when striper fishing due to the noise, stripers will avoid it and move on I tried not using my electronics...

How much noise does that Omni sonar make? If it can see 2-3 miles away, that's pretty damn powerful!

Do you think deer can sense trail cameras ?

Every cam I've ever owned has made some noise. When I changed from normal cam mode to cell mode using cuddelink, I didn't notice any drop in pic activity. You know how deer are with their sixth sense...it wouldn't surprise me if they can pick up on certain wavelengths floating in the air...

Do you think deer can sense trail cameras ?

before I used cell cams, i was exactly like farmlegend in regards to checking my cams. I'd never drive anything motorized in my hunting area tho! Once I had about 10 non-cell cams out, it would take me a couple of hours to hit them all, swapping cards. I hated that, because no matter how hard...

    Uncatagorized.....things we see....

We all get in some tenuous debates about baiting, weapon technology, etc...but this genetic high-fence stuff really takes the cake.

Forward facing sonar - fishing tech

I'm no expert for sure, but in my area of the US, the crappie don't have to go thru such a harsh winter. It's not uncommon for crappie to take over a bass pond, or small rivers. Most of our lakes are reservoirs, so we have alot of cover, and never seem to have a shortage of crappie. I have...

Forward facing sonar - fishing tech

I am not. My boat has Lowrance HDS units, old school. A long time ago, when I got my first boatful of electronics, I found myself effing with those more than I was fishing. Eventually I settled in using electronics for GPS/mapping, water temps, and bottom density only. I'm a techy guy, but...

Forward facing sonar - fishing tech

Don't know about up north, but to fish a lake out of crappie would be pretty damn hard to do here in Oklahoma, livescope or not.

Do you remember it being colder

Same. Only issue I have with it is due to being in the RV business. Bout the time ppl want to get their units going and dewinterize, here comes the freezer again

Not surprised even a little bit but pretty pissed

Thanks guys. So that you know, from a perspective of a conservative outdoors guy like you all.... it took 6 months to catch the guy once we knew who he was. I hunted him that whole time, loaded up. Sniper rifle for long range, 45 for close range. I had to come to terms with me spending the...

check this out...like I said before, convicted violent felon, paroled, gets arrested, let go, has a drug court hearing, doesn't show, wanted man. Then he tried to kill my son. Then, all those hearings took place because he kept pleading innocent, until finally, the judge decides the case...

I told you that part of my life to let you know that when/if you even have to serve on jury duty, know that there's a victim in there (like my family) that needs your help to get some justice

Not surprised even a little bit but pretty pissed

never been called for jury duty, but, my son was a victim of a violent crime. He was stabbed in the neck by a black pos trying to steal his truck, left him for dead. was a quadraplegic but is now recovered. long story that would blow your mind with all the twists and turns. person involved ended...
