Is the hunting industry selling us garbage?

This is a great thread, I can’t watch any of the hunting shows on outdoor channel today, with the exception being Heartland Bowhunter. I understand that these shows get their money from their sponsors, so they need to push there products, but I’m sick of them trying to shove it down your throat...

    UTV Opinions/Advice Solicited

I wouldn’t say the transmission was an issue, I was just so used to the Rhino I had, having set gears and not shifting. It does seem like sometimes it gets to too high of rpm’s before it decides to shift, but I’m learning to get used to it. The paddle shift is nice whenever you want to stay in...

Jac, I think you’re making a good decision. I’ve had a rhino 700 for a few years and the motor blew on it this fall. It has been a great machine, it was just at the end of the motors life. While waiting on the motor to get rebuilt, I pulled the trigger on a 2017 Pioneer Deluxe. The power...

    Buckwheat seed

Most online sites I've checked are showing $25-$35 shipping. If I was you I would check around and see if there's any co-ops that would be a reasonable drive.

    69 Acre Ohio Land Tour

I agree with PA. I'll take the easy access stuff thata already fallen and out in the open for firewood. The rest I'll let fall over time. Some spots are so dense with ash that I'll need to be careful with my stand placement in other trees nearby. I saw something cool today when I was taking...

    69 Acre Ohio Land Tour

Good call, I plan spending a bunch of time cutting grape vines before the green up of spring happens, so that will give me a good chance to do some scouting and looking for trails, especially with the snow we have on the ground here in Ohio. I can imagine I'll be battling the grape vines and ash...

Very cool! Grouse are basically non existent in my area, but its cool to learn about them and hope for them to make a comeback someday.

    69 Acre Ohio Land Tour

I've already put a lot of time in cutting grape vines...those things are everywhere! I read on here that some guys are cutting them at licking branch height, so I'll do that in a few locations too, I liked that idea. I really cant stand autumn olive either, but I'm going to leave that alone...

    69 Acre Ohio Land Tour

I appreciate the suggestion, I'll do a search of his name and check out the thread. We are about 30 minutes or so from the ohio river. It's mainly rolling hills, some fields (mainly crop fields near me) and a mix of good hardwoods and thick woods that have been logged. I don't have many...

    69 Acre Ohio Land Tour

The area is absolutely full of cover. The first year or 2 i don't have high hopes as far as harvesting mature deer. But to me, leaning the land and how the deer operate is what makes it fun and rewarding. With the 3 bait piles I've been running, I've already got a good inventory to keep tabs on...

    69 Acre Ohio Land Tour

Hey everyone, I'm going to put up my land tour on here and see what your guys' input is. My wife and I just recently closed on 69 acres in SE Ohio. The land is about 5 miles from where we currently live. Our goal for the land is to manage it for wildlife, improve the property as a whole, and...

    Who are you?

Welcome greekfreak, I'm also a new Ohioan. I'm in SE Ohio. My wife and I just purchased 70 acres and are planning on managing the land to increase the overall property and timber, and manage for wildlife, mainly deer and turkeys. I'm not very familiar with managing habitat, so I'm here to learn.
