I agree. Their rich, unique flavor is hard to beat. It’s so easy to tell when they’re becoming ripe. The deer tear up the ground from standing on her back legs.
Bought these today on Facebook marketplace. 3 for $20. All my trees already have mulch. I’m hoping maybe for maximum growth in the future instead of just thinking survival.
I was at a wedding this weekend and took a picture of a 20 gallon watering bag. All the trees looked very healthy. I think I’m going to try about a dozen of them.

You don’t need a drill. Really good weed control before planting helps a lot. Broadcast seed in the middle of January. There’s a lot of information on the Bee & Butterfly Habitat funds website on pollinator fields establishment, and maintenance.
