    Labeling fruit trees

I am curious how everyone is labeling trees for identification long term. I have tried the write on metal tabs with mixed results, seems that they can tear somewhat easily and I use them more as a temporary option. Lately I have used a roll of aluminum flashing, cutting that into ~1.5"x4"...

    The trouble with tree tubes

I have done something similar but used remesh from menards, a few years ago the rolls were only like $110 and would do 10-11 trees.

    Bud 118 or other rootstocks

I could also order any other rootstock they have in stock still as long as you want 40 or more of them as they come in bundles of 50.

    2021 Scion Exchange

Bucksnort I sent you a PM. I was planning to buy 100 RS of Bud 118 in 3/16" size but only need 50. I initially was going to buy a bundle of 1/4" size but they are out. I could speedee delivery them to you likely with next day service for cheap.

    Tree labels

I have thought about using a system with pheasant leg tags, they have enough room to punch in the variety name but also a nice deep number as well to tie to a wire to.

Anyone get their GRIN Scion order...

I got the same letter for my peach budwood. The variety i chose was marginal for my zone so not surprised. Received my pear and apple weeks ago.

    Grafting sealant

Northwest Cider Supply sells grafting seal in pint size containers right now for $10. Looks to be as good as Doc Farwells (maybe it is simply repackaged?) Probably a lifetime of grafting for most of us for $10.
