We’ve tried a few different brands over the years, but we’ve been most happy with the sprayer from Frost Inc. The build quality and reliability have held up really well for us, especially compared to others in the same price range. Worth a look if you want something that’ll last.
Strapping it down is a good method for keeping in any box.
id make sure that the tank size isn't too big for the machine though. Example, a 50g cannot go on an ATV. But a UTV should be fine up to 100g.

We had some interns work on this project last summer! Here is what they came up with for a covered herbicide sprayer to prevent overspray on trees and stuff. Always fun to see what they invent in a short period of time.
I'd say just put some water through, give it a good rinse and spray it out until the nozzles are clear. Dawn dish soap also helps.
Remember to put some RV antifreeze in it through the winter so it doesn't freeze (If you have that issue).
