    Weather

Welp, looks like the worst of it is over for now. Here in GB the weather channel is saying we got 23.5"of snow and i absolutely believe it. Multiple colapsed roofs on businesses all over town and drifts taller then my truck when i went for a drive this afternoon. Highest deer density area in the...

Poor Soil Frost Seeding options... more than clover?

Just not through frost seeding? Guess will have to bite the bullet and take time away from musky fishing and hope it stays dry enough to plant buckwheat in june.

Poor Soil Frost Seeding options... more than clover?

Thanks guys. I guess my thought was if i could get some seed on the ground started instead of letting the grasses and weeds that grow so thick on our place take over, i would be ahead of the game come july and august. This chunk is around 800 acres between jump river and Ladysmith.

Poor Soil Frost Seeding options... more than clover?

Have a .25 acre plot that got expanded to probably 1.5 acres this winter when loggers came in to take care of tornado damage. Had them bring the dozer in and clear away a bunch of poplars leaving what i am assuming is mostly cleared away dirt. No soil amendments have been made yet and its...

    Property/Neighborhood Review NE Wi

Looks like a lots of wet.... I know the area. Mission lake area is good in general but that looks like you would be paying for a lot of land you wouldnt be able to improve or hunt. something to think hard about. Deer may love swamps for cover but for what percentage of the season and do you like...

Northern WI Bear Hunt - Guide / Outfitter

To each there own.. the place that we have bear hunted in the past is a giant chunk of FCL open land NW wi, dog hunters in every direction that run it too. If you want a big one still patterned in daylight you better kill him the first few days of season or you wont get him. Plus if i am waiting...

    Live from the stand thread

Here is mine from Sunday afternoon. Shot in waupaca county out of a 20 acre section of river bottom we leave alone all fall. Went for a slow walk towards a stand we have on the edge of it and he stood up out of his bed next to a doe and pounded him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Crossed over to the other side

Don't deny being selfish at all. See my later posts. Warped sense of mind because I want to hunt a deer in a more strategic and ethical way than sitting over a corn pile with an arrow gun. Hokayyyyy buddy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Crossed over to the other side

People keep asking why do you care what someone uses? Because I want the woods to myself lol. I want the gun hunters to stay gun hunters... not pick up an arrow gun and go tromping through my acorn flat at first light the first weekend of November because suddenly they are "bow hunters" Everyone...

Crossed over to the other side

True. And i dont deny being arrogant when it comes to hunting. Bow hunting is something i am extremely passionate about and when there was a sudden influx of hunters (and sloppy/unprepared ones at that) in the whitetail woods, both public and private, it just frustrates me. Call me selfish but...

Sorry but... crossbows make me cringe. I hate the fact that wisconsin has made them available to everyone. Now everyone is a "bowhunter" which granted is what the DNR wants... but the last thing i wanted was more people in the woods. Prime example last year. An uncle who has always been anti bow...
