Yeah from what I understand a pond can cost a lot or not that much and it mostly depends if you have the right soils and property lay out for drainage and water collection. Id probably get a return on my capital invested. I'll probably end up talking to the nrcs and see what they think. I'm...
Here was from the flood event. That's looking into one of the 6 acre fields. The farmer doesn't want to farm the 1.6 acre field so I'm gonna probably do a milo, and screening mix. That 1.6 acre seems to always have pheasants in it and the occasional turkey. I never duck hunted so maybe I'll just...
That's what I'm trying to figure out. If the land is setup to naturally hold water it might not be too expensive. If it isn't it can cost a lot. I've only seen wood ducks in the creek. It's only flooded once since I've had it and no crops so I don't know.
I don't know if it's legal to pump or drain water into the creek without contacting the core of engineers and getting their approval. I do have an arestian well on the property that naturally pumps out water. I think I could probably drill a well similar to that in any of those field locations...
My property has a decent amount of tillable, which is frequently flooded two 6 acres fields and a smaller 1.6 acre one. It sits right next to a creek and when we get 2 inches of rain it looks like a swimming pool. It drains off with a few days depending if we get more rain. The historical...
Man that's like reading fine print, and realizing maybe Arkansas blacks aren't ideal for deer. I liked them because of the late drop time. I just assumed these big name apple trees are productive every year if they pollinate.
My fitbit says I'm at 5208 calories burned. 6 hours of solid back breaking work. The bare root stock looked pretty good from a size standpoint. The one without the flowers are them. I always feel like I'm planting dead expensive sticks with bare root. The other two are deer candy and rut master.
Thanks I think I'll just go with the bare root stock in the variety I want. I'm not looking forward to planting the 7 gallons because I heard they are prone to root balling.
Hi All,
Going to be driving down to pickup my apple trees at the nursery tomorrow and then hopefully plant them that day. I ordered 4 - 7 gallon trees, but today when I called to confirm they said they didn't have any more 7 gallon in the two red dawn variety I had chosen, they offered me...
I'm 6"2 so I built the top wall to be 75 inches tall, being able to full stand up and stretch out my legs is totally worth it. The majority of timber is cut for 2x4x8 and 4x8 so it's not costing me anything in terms of complexity or costs.
