All research shows discing can introduce plants you don't want. I also have created ruts with less than perfect soil conditions. Iv been trying to use herbicides mainly.
I have pollinator contract 15 years old. Just started seeing SL in it last year. Started spot spraying 41% and this year looking better. I only see when have no spray available. Thinking now a once a year spot spraying minimum forever.
Iv owned my MO farm for over 30 years. Never had Bush honeysuckle till about 6 years ago. Spray every spring thing that should do it. Next spring have even more. About same time frame with SL.
What Iv red is burning only sets back. Herbicide work but next year not tall enough to see. Year after I see new plants. Only thing Iv found is yearly spot checking that is a PITA.
I was always told that also. Most everything posted by colleges doing research says the opposite. If you want cost of SL control figure 3 years of spraying . If you don't buy, new owners might not do anything causing more headaches in long run.
Iv never done grafting but after this many years of Home Depo trees not producing I need to do something. Are they to old to cut down and try a graft with tree that produces?
