Tractor PTO Driven Stump Grinder Experience?

Tree Spud

I an looking to buying a stump grinder attachment for my tractor. I have a backhoe & grapple, and while they can help remove a stump there are challenges.

My tractor is 58 hp, 50 at the PTO.

What type/brand do you use and what experiences have you had?

Just bumping this to see if anyone has any experience.

I can't help with the PTO question, but I have a grapple and have used an excavator to dig stumps. Finally got a grinder and LOVE it. Grinding is the way to go IMHO. I don't disc deeply or plow though.

What brand and model stump grinder did you go with?

I have a Bobcat and got the Bobcat SGX 60. Can park the skid steer and control the head with the joystick buttons. I am glad I did not get one that forces you to move the skid steer back and forth. For the small rotted pine stumps that might be more convenient, i.e. faster, but the big ones would be a pain

Thanks, I don't have a Bobcat, wish I did :emoji_slight_smile:

I saw this when it was first posted. Decided to hold off, but I'll share now.
