There's an APP for that...

For years, I've struggled identifying plants...then I discovered a great APP called SEEK. SEEK is fairly simply to use...literally you install it on your mobile device and using the camera feature point it at - well just about whatever you want...a plant, insect, mammal, bird, etc - and it will identify it. Yes it isn't perfect...and sometimes it will do some strange things...like identify a twig as a snake. But in general it is quite accurate.

I’ll check that out.

Been trying out a app on my iPhone that does just that. (Picture This) in iTunes store. Using it for a couple weeks and its has nailed everything at farm quick and very informative. I am still learning, but can store all your images and info, share with friends, and who knows what else. It is free for 7days I believe. It beats me carrying out couple my books in field when I am identifying stuff I am unsure of. I will try to post some of my pics of common problem weeds in food plots .

I use PlantSnap (Iphone) that is free (so far) and fairly accurate as far as I can tell by googling what it comes up with and comparing Google pictures with the name PlantSnap says it is.
Most of the apps I have used for this are free for a trial period but then have to pay, this is the first one that has stayed free so far for me. The other ones I deleted once they wanted $$ from me.

Haven’t checked out seek yet. But tried GasDoc’s app around the yard. Pretty impressive.

F....... so I just went outside work and was playing around with PlantSnap and after identifying a plant it popped up the "price to continue" grrrr... so I recant the statement I made above.

So I believe SEEK is free...and thus far, no In-App purchases are required. Because of the intermittent issues with some identifications, I may also add PictureThis as suggest by @WKyGasDoc

I use PlantNet on my android phone and it seems very accurate. I've never had to pay and have been using it for over a year.

Well on iPhone you press the orange reply arrow then press the icon on the left that is shaped like mountains which takes you to your photos. You then check a photo ad hit reply. Abracadabra pic posted. I should mention that is when using Tapatalk. (I’m unsure if there is other ways to access this site via smartphone app)
