The new utv/ habitat helper

ruskbucks

5 year old buck +
Just picked up a new yamaha Viking to help with habitat projects at home and land. Love it so far. I was looking on here for info on them.i can't believe nobody has one. I did a lot of research and the viking has great reviews with dependabilty similar to Honda. I've had 3 gators before this one, they have been good machines. This Viking is more of a cross between utility and a trail machine.

Finally picked this up last weekend. Took 4 months from the time I ordered it.
The salesman said we are lucky to get one. Now they are looking at November-December delivery

Congrats! I had the same issue with the Honda Pioneer 700 Deluxe I got at the beginning of the year. I paid full price and was lucky to get it. I've been real happy with it so far. Hope you have the same with the Polaris.

Thanks,

Jack

My cattleman neighbor has Yamaha Viking EPS utility versions and routinely gets over 10,000 miles on them

Yamaha makes good machines. Congrats, bet you enjoy the hell out of it.

Enjoy! Yamah makes good stuff.

If using an UTV as a tractor with implements, take it easy. I have a 4x4 ATV, but only use implements in 2wd, just so I dont overwork the machine. Keep the oil very clean, most utv/atv's use a wet clutch. Try not to keep operating the UTV in the slip zone. I go up to 6-7mph, let the clutch take up, then bring it back down to 5mph. If you have hi/lo range, which I think you do, you should be ok. Keep those diff oils clean too. The compact diffs and gearboxes dont allow for decent gear tooth velocities to make a good oil wedge, so any dirt in the oil amplifies wears more. Also, ATV's and UTV do not have a radiator screen, so hose it off several times a year.

Picked mine up yesterday. Pioneer 1000-5 Deluxe. Added a lot of accessories already. Hard doors, hard top, a-arm protection, heavy skid plate, winch, led bar lights, heater, bed extender, upgraded tires.

Very nice!

Enjoy WIMuzz,

A guy in my hunting club lease has one. tough as nails. 2 things, keep an eye out on the air intake ductwork. He hit a branch underneath, poped the hose clamp off, and took a drink of water near camp. Had to rebuild the motor. also, dont cut your winch cable off with a chainsaw.......... We have alot of philosphy majors at my club.....

I really enjoy hearing music from a 1/2 mile away with his UTV during opening day of rifle in the NY Northern zone. Atleast nobody shows up opening weekend of muzzleloader, except me.
