Swiffy's View From Rocky Knoll

SWIFFY

5 year old buck +
I'm going to make an effort to be more involved with this fine group! At the very least I'm hopeful a Land Tour may inspire me to document everything on the farm a little better!

This will be at my home in Central MN where me, my wife and my 2 daughters live. We currently own 71 acres but hunt and plant and play on the surrounding 600 acres or so. This land has been in my family since the late 70's and I have lived on it since 2010.

Thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge with me over the years! I hope I someday have something to offer all of you!

Enjoy!

looks like a fine view for morning coffee, and evening beer, good luck!

I'm always envious of guys who could actually put a hot tub on the deck and hunt from it!

Putting stuff in my land tour has helped me remember when I did things. Wish I had one from the beginning

Yes I can see that in a lot of what you fellas put on your land tours! Even if its only for your own documenting, it seems great for that! If it teaches someone else or motivates them, even better! I think back at all the stuff id wish id posted and didnt. Now I dont remember half of it! Ha :)

Thanks! Yes, the deck has seen its share of both!

Awesome view, the land tour thread section is one of my favorites...very interesting to watch everyone's progression over time.

Spring Is here. I want to connect some cover with a secure place to travel so I am trying some of these Hybrid Poplars and Hybrid Willows. How did I do?

Fun to get working on some more projects again!

Looks good, I think we've all had those casualties with trees.

Cuttings look good. Just keep an eye on them over the summer as they grow. that lumite can start to girdle them so you may need put a little slice in there. After next spring just cut it off if there above the weeds.

Ok thanks! I figured that would happen so Id need to cut them wider.

Been a busy summer, never find time to post my own stuff. Really starting to get anxious for fall!

No-tilled my Liberty beans into last years Rye... they’re looking very good! I will get some current pictures soon.

My little Hybrid willow and poplar plantings did great until the deer started eating them! Still rebounding nicely.

And a 2nd year “box store” Liberty apple tree already kicking out some apples. I’m happy to see it as I don’t have any fruit yet on my place.B378EB38-CB42-48B6-B11C-DDB6025B44E2.jpeg34C6AFDA-0498-45F7-9FC1-EBDC001790B7.jpegEA07A765-5318-47AC-B980-2CDDDE0A7258.jpegA60C2633-E708-410F-B62E-143F1EFB6800.jpeg060AD1B4-DB29-40FF-B72B-75C7EC9CA8DA.jpeg

I have many other plots to get pictures of as well. We’ve had a horribly dry July here and I’m struggling to get my brassicas to germinate this year.

Here are a few bucks wandering the property...AC0D8713-99BC-4828-898A-D216BB54B06A.jpeg1FB97EAE-1BD6-4428-9263-12EB31EF4802.jpegC45EF436-60CA-46F6-BFFB-2FFCBB64580D.jpegF9A3B13A-714B-4D80-A47F-954CA3856E81.jpegD437B530-73D4-49A0-BEAF-6BE584793D73.jpeg2BC28D29-0DD2-4D36-A35A-09ED69A0CA2E.jpeg
