Stock Market is the bottom in?

I don't think the big boys like us playing in their pond. Us "idiots" are disrupting their cozy home and I love it (I don't use RH by the way):

Good article and I completely agree with Buffet! Not illegal, Not immoral,...just gambling (which has been the point of many of my posts). To my way of thinking, there are a few putting in big money to get the ball rolling with the masses. Timing that money with the anonymity of a social media campaign creates a lot of FOMO with the little guys, and suddenly things begin to skyrocket. At some point, as little guys add up and fill their places, they can pull their money a little at a time. The stock keeps going up for a while but they are gone. Before long the little guys are holding a house of cards, and we all know what eventually happens with them. If his timing happens to be right, a little guy can score, but most will end up holding the bag.

Just my perspective...

They're not wrong. But that's how it is now, so they will need to adapt.

Buffett is a straight shooter for the most part. He has openly admitted that Berkshire is overvalued and unlikely to outperform the S&P. His analysis of markets is very good, and his investing style is solid. Unfortunately for him there is a paradigm shift in the investment markets, and he will probably have to learn some new tricks.

He is 90 and worth 90 billion, not sure he cares about new tricks.

I think his point was not that things have changed in the true investment market, but that gambling market is expanding. I've not seen anyone who is as good at reallocating capital as Buffet. I think Berkshire has hit some limits associated with large scale.

He's still the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He cares.

Warren Buffet has a good strategy of buying great companies and keeping them long term. I try to do the same. Excessive trading works for some, but will burn others. I think in the next two years, we will see a number of the risk traders go bust, and that will change the market. Personally, I would rather see Robinhood, Ameritrade, Charles Schwab, and others charge a small fee--even $1-- for the trades, to settle this market down a bit.

I like to listen to the Q&A with Warren and Charlie. That seems to be the one time of the year he talks like an honest investor. His commentary on inflation was pretty interesting. All the bureaucrats creating the inflation are telling us it's not happening, but every person out there involved in the means of production is saying the lumpy bat is coming quickly.

I think it has more to do with the weather that hit Texas.
Gas still has not dropped after the Texas incident..??

It dropped here and then went back up. Lots of factors involved. Like always, gas prices fall like a feather and rise like a rocket.

Asking if the bottom is in with the stock market is like asking if my signal light is working----yes...no...yes...no

I suspect another dip now. I could be WAY off (of course). Talk of inflation, gas, etc. I'm moving some things (not small CAP) into more protected alternatives for a while.

Inflation, gas lines, fighting in the Middle East, interest rates about to go up...this is Jimmy Carter 2.0

Nope. It's the new normal.

I said commodies would go up, and they have. Real estate is up too. The system is bonkers right now. I'm expecting a correction/crash this year, but I can't know when.

It dropped in our area and then went back up. Probably going higher with the cyber attack.

Same here. I'm thinking after summer (when everyone gets out of lockdown/get their shots/whatever - I think the small caps will grow and consumer spending is pent up).

My portfolio is down 10% recently.

News just said no price gouging on gas. Two days ago I paid 2.58 when I filled one vehicle. Two hours ago it was 2.97 when I filled the other.

Calm down you guys, Joe Empathy from Scranton fixed everything. We are back to having the asshole of the world explode at any moment (the unholy land), a 50% increase in gas prices in under 4 months, 200,000 jobs on 8.5 million job openings, a noticeable increase in violent guns and mass shootings, an increase in terrorist attacks world wide, getting challenged by Putin and then hiding in the bunker. We also have camel toe fearlessly leading us at the border. Would have thought she would take a question or visit 50 days into the job though.....

At least there are no more mean tweets and things are getting back to normal.....

You forgot the largest increase in inflation in over 40 years!
