Shrink Wrap

I will have access to a ton of shrink wrap in the spring. Do you think it would be possible to dig out a small area and criss-cross the shrink wrap as a liner for a small pond? If I put a layer of dirt or sand back over the top, would it slow the leakage?

I'd sell the shrink-wrap and buy a pond liner.

Most shrink wrap film is very thin. IMO the work involved to put it down wouldn't be worth it.

Pond liners aren't that expensive, are they?

I'm guessing you're talking about boat storage shrinkwrap? With it being formed to the shapes of the boats, you'll have a hard time getting it to lay flat.

The industrial pallet wrap kind makes a good arrow backstop when baled. Not much good for anything else.

I haven't checked into pond liners recently. Last time I did they were a little pricey and a lot more than free.

Yes, shrink wrap is coming off pontoon boats in spring. The majority of the wrap is not heated so that is easy to work with. I would need to trim off the area that they shrink and run the ropes through but that wouldn't take to long.

Concern was the thickness and if I would get a lot of seepage. It is a little thicker than normal since boats are stored outside and needs to hold a few feet of snow.
