Shed Antlers

I got a pic last week of one that had lost his antlers and another of a little buck that lost 1. So it's starting.

Thanks. I got kind of lucky; I was driving down the highway and thought I saw a point sticking up (way down in the ditch). Went back an hour later and found both of them laying there. This is only the second time I've ever found an antler from the road.

His are gone as of yesterday

Your bucks produce so well, he'll probably have a new set by Saturday :)

I'm starting to get pretty antsy....its just a waiting game for me now...I'll probably do some "warm up" hikes on some state land that i started hunting a little this year near my friend's camp. I wont intrude on my "prime" spots until i know all or most have dropped...late Feb or early March.

I'm about 95% sure i saw a shed out buck in the same spot the last 2 days. Its not land i have permission on, but a friend of mine does so i just called him up and told him to get in there and take a look!

Grabbed the dog and did some shed hunting today. I guess you could say we found one.

I have seen deer coyotes have cleaned up but the head damage makes me think bear was involved at one point. It was found in same area I have had large bear using.

Ouch! You would think with exposed skull in February they would get brain freeze.

He's down one. So much for they fall off at the same time.

I would say this antler loss has more to do with wind resistance than seasonal changes.

Found my first one of the year while checking cable restraints. Wish they would all be laying in spots like this!

My 7 year old found his first one Sunday. It was from a small probably 1 1/2 year old 8pt. We found it in a mature oak forest and the squirrels had chewed almost every point of already.

Drill the base out and put a double end screw in. They make great hooks for hats and gloves.

Found #4 today. Everything on camera is still holding though.

Looks like some of you guys are pretty good at finding these things.

Found #2 today. Radish was covering part of the behemoth:D

Moved the radish so you could see the whole antler;)

Whoa! Those are some monster radish, it makes that antler look small.:D
