Somewhere I read that the G.890 did okay on sandy soil during a study, but I don't remember where I found that info.

Yeah… very interesting piece. What I liked most was the concise description of the larger rootstocks; the P.18, M.111, B.118, and seedlings. The descriptions are of practical use to me because I have all types of soils, and most of them are marginal to start with. Useful read!
