Puff Balls?

How are you guys cooking puff balls to make them taste like anything?
Youngest son found a half dozen very fresh ones yesterday from baseball size on up....we tried slicing kind of thin frying in butter and it was not awesome, tried breading with bisquick it was same.. How should we be cooking them?

Not a fan of them either. I don't know why people think these taste good. I have heard of someone who dries them and grinds them into a powder and uses it for flavor in a soup.

I never could convince myself to like them. They have a unique flavor that doesn't seem to go with anything. Just try to drown it out with a rich stew maybe.

We've tried them a few times also. Not much flavor, especially compared to morels or hen of the woods.

You're supposed to kick puffballs, not eat them.

We absolutely love morels at our house, I thought I was doing something wrong with the puffballs...I guess not!
No need to bring any more of those into the kitchen.

A Facebook friend suggested slicing thin, brushing with olive oil, and grilling both sides. Then cooling and using for pizza crust. Low cal, low carb, and all natural.

That sounds like a good way to mess up a pizza!
