No till drill

Does anybody make a no till drill for a 25 HP tractor that just uses the three point hitch( not a pull behind )

That would be hard to find. I think a Genesis 3 on a 3 pt is a 30 HP minimum. You can do a Genesis 3 tow behind however.

SAYA 505 no til is also 30 HP minimum.

Yep my problem is I own a 25HP L2501 Kubota and don't want to do the tag along thing.

Is the 505 a real no till drill kinda like the Genesis?

You're gonna be hard pressed to find anything that'd work on that sized machine. And if you do, I really doubt you'll be satisfied with the results as you need weight and down pressure to put the seed in at the right depths. JMO

Depending on what you are intending to plant, you may be happier with a Throw N Mow situation.

Yes, it does have no-til coulters. But it's a light duty drill compared to a RTP Genesis. IE - You probably need softer ground at the time of planting. Otherwise like Roy stated your results won't be as good.

Jeff Sturgis uses the Genesis 3 pull behind, you may check out his channel to see his propaganda, err I mean results..

Yes I follow him

I have a kasco versa drill and I would say it's min till but I doubt even if you could use that with a 25 horse

Depends on the lift capacity of your hitch and size of your frame, but I have a 4' Kasco No-till drill. It is not in the same league with the big drills but after a few mods, it is workable. I got it because of the low cost (used for 3K) and the versatility of the seed metering system. You can plant about any seed or mix. However, I've evolved and most of the seeds I plant now surface broadcast and cultipack well, so I don't use it for much. I find it is very hard to T&M large seeds like beans and corn, but I'm not using them any more. For those, you might also consider a cut down no-till planter, I've seen them cut down to two or even one row.

I just read the post with your tractor. My DK45 was in the shop one year and I borrowed a buddy's L-series Kubota (30 hp I think). It had enough lift capacity but the drill sticks out so far behind it that the front wheels of the tractor barely touched the ground. I made some temporary front weights for it. So, you might need to invest in real front weights if you get the Kasco with an L-series.

Lastly, if you are considering the Kasco route, do a search on Kasco on this forum. You will find lost of details on the issues I had to address so you know what you are getting into.

Thanks,

Jack

fwiw, I put in a ryegrass mix yesterday on the new pondbank with the drill. It worked like a dream. It has drizzled nicely ever since. Why does this bring me more joy than payday? I don't know why, but it does.
