NEED YOUR HELP! ATV Towing System

Looks like a great solution!

Lots of states are now allowing plating of those ATV's and SXS's. I did it to my side by side. I also have the reflecting triangle on the back too. I can legally run mine on roads with speeds of 35MPH or less with the plate. The triangle will allow you to hit the road of its how you get from one part of property to another. I do have technically a timber farm.
I have headlights, turn signals, mirrors for both sides and a horn along with stop and running lamps. Front turn indicators are just small LED units

Thanks for the thought. NY requires plate and insurance but it's still not legal on the road. This worked great for the entire season (so happy with how this worked)!
The hook-up and subsequent disconnect took me less than 5 minutes.

I had 1 problem. 1 time. I didn't have my ATV in neutral. Lucky my dad was standing right there and caught me before I drove more than a few feet.

I'm trying to design (light fabrication) something that I can use for towing a short/slow distance that will:
1. Keep just my front ATV tires off the ground.
2. That will allow me to connect it to the trailer ball/or sleeve on my truck .
3. Allow ONLY the back wheels on the ground.
4. No modifications to my ATV.

I know it sounds a little sketchy but this is about 300 yards (straight, I don't have to turn). It allows me to not break the law by riding my ATV on the road (a nice $85 fine).

Here's the starting point:

I tried using another hitch and some punched metal tubes (square) and a ratchet strap to hold it up on the setup. However because of the ball, the setup just allowed the metal tubes to make contact with the ground (If I cut them shorter, the setup will go almost vertical) - as shown here:

Should I be looking for something like a cargo tray and just use that?

I know that this sounds silly. Yes, I have a pickup with the capability of putting the ATV inside it. But I hunt alone and that can get fairly dangerous once the snow flies when the ramps can slide around on the ground. When I actually put this into the bed of my truck, I have a hill that my tailgate lines up to at my camp - just not where I hunt. So I'm trying to figure out something like this.
Maybe you should get one of those Tow hitch mount cargo shelf things that people put deer on and then just drive up on it with a couple ramps or something. Then ratchet strap the tires to it and you can pull it.

This is it. In action.
