My life in Massachusetts summed up in a single picture....

Many of you guys know that I am a high school teacher. I think many of you know that I am also a conservative/libertarian type. I kill deer. I own AR15's. I have enough ammo stockpiled to start a small war. I'm a vet. I stand for the flag. I kneel to pray. In a profession filled mostly with liberals, in one of the most liberal states in the US, I am awash in liberalism and liberal philosophy. Today I am at work teaching remotely on Zoom and I looked outside the window and had a good laugh to myself. Thought I'd share...I'm that bored. This pic I think sums up my life in Massachusetts! Guess which one is mine.

That's a badass ride....I had a 76(I think). It was a tank. I can remember looking down by the 4wd shifter and being able to see the ground.

Nice deep purple!

Sweet ride!

Beautiful state, the politics not so much. That said Boston is my all-time favorite big city to visit, love the history/food/bars wife and I can walk about anywhere we want to go downtown.

LOL! That's funny. They are great trucks. Tough to find in the Northeast that aren't completely ratted out by rust. My '84 came out of Oregon 2 years ago.

Western Mass is especially beautiful. That's Mt. Greylock in the pic...the tallest mountain in Mass. I grew up in a small town at the base of the mountain and now work every day with that view just outside my window. Lots of rolling hills and ridge lines to hunt. And I agree about Boston...great city!

Nice! Lots of memories indeed. Back in the late 1980's when I was 18 and in the military I bought a '78 with a decent body and a shot drivetrain...and a '73 with a ratty body but a good drivetrain...and made one good Blazer out of them. Got them for $500 in West Virginia...those were the days! My current '84 Blazer is in better condition now, 36 years years after its manufacture, then both of those were then, only 12 to 15 years after. I got the blue and white polka dot welder's cap.

That really burns my bottom.

How is it enforced?

It's not really enforced. About 10 years ago my high school went through a $40 MILLION remodel. Much of he money came from some kind of federal "green" loans...you can see the solar panels in front of my truck. We make our own electricity. We collect rain water from the roof. Lots of green technology went into the building. I think those signs were just a part of the package.
