Mushroom season!

Telemark

5 year old buck +
The season came on like gangbusters. I've already got a pile in the freezer, and we have at least two months to go before the frost shuts it all down.

Got a great harvest of porcini. Probably a week left on these, so I'll be out again in a few days.20190821_211412.jpg20190821_144646.jpg

Definitely my best day for Norwegian chanterelles. We get about 89 inches of rain per year, and one of the only upsides to that is the reliable mushroom harvests.

Wow, those are great looking shrooms there. Not very hard to spot those.I was just out at my place in northern WI. I found about 2 doz chants, about the same in hedgehogs, and two bears tooth. They were just starting, a lot of the chanterelles were too small.

Give the chants time. Not sure how fast they grow there. But check them every few days or so. Here they grow slow, but the ones in Canada grew very fast.
