Moving 15’ Redneck tower blind

Has anyone on here successfully (I.e. without damage) moved a 15’ tower blind from one spot to another on their farm? If so, can you share equipment used and method? Based on some changes happening to my farm I may want to move one or two of mine and I’m trying to decide the best method if I do. I have a 75hp tractor and loader, as well as access to large tracked skid steer. There’s a couple ways I think could work but curious what others have done.

If shorter I would pick up with forks,Mine is on the short stand.I think I would tie good ropes to tractor and a longer rope to otehr side and do a controlled pull over.How did you get them up?There are a couple Utube vids showing how also I think.Don't forget to clean everything out first

I would get some forks for your tractor. Theyhave some that will attach right to the bucket. Seperate the tower from the stand and set blind on a trailer, move that to new spot. Then get the bottom of the stand.

The tower is 15’. The blind sits on top of that. No way to pluck the blind of the tower with our equipment. My FEL only goes up to 12’. I’m we have forks for both the skid steer and my loader.

The stand I moved was not 15' it was 8' and it didn't have the blind on it but this is what I did. I screwed a couple 2x6's on each end and then ran a couple 4x4's crossways and lifted up on the 4x4's with the FEL, strapped it all with a couple 2" straps. I only lifted it as much as needed to clear everything and went slow.

Ok , what about running some 2 x8s about 6 inches off the ground on two sides. On one side have tractor with forks opposite side skiddy with forks. Then slowly lift with the tractor and skid at the same time. Lift just high enough to back a trailer under it.

I saw somewhere where they built a temporary 5 foot stand out of pallets to go on the forks to pick the blind off. I would think you then could tip the stand over and strap to the tractor. Once the blind is off might be better to take the tower apart and transport.

at that height I'd definitely get the blind laid over and down on the ground. Remove the blind from the tower and transport separately. Moving each part should be simple.

My tractor lifts 11'. We put our last 2 on 10 foot platforms. I'm going to put 2 more up 15', we are going to use this method.

Your biggest issues are going to be weight distribution. If you create a lower brace on the stand to put the forks, when you pick up the stand and blind, you will have the blind extended an high above the forks. Putting the weight of the stand extended above the forks could lead to very off center load above the tractor if you go over uneven ground.

I have moved a couple on 10'-12' legs and actually laid them down across a trailed bed. The blinds were smaller and lighter than yours. A long running gear tractor trailer might work as you could lay the stand down parallel with the trailer bed.

I moved a couple this summer with forks and a FEL and a wood sided blind still attached but I had things in my favor

8' legs
relatively flat ground to transport
moved each one about 100 yards

I'm sure you could run a couple 2 bys across at a level where it's good to grab them at, but that high, any bump is gonna be pretty stressfull on your nerves and the wood itself.

We moved two of those 15’ rednecks last year. Tipped over, removed blind, moved separately, reconnected, tipped back up. When tower on its side, you want the platform with hand rails against the ground, propping up the tower, so keep that in mind for what direction you tip. When tipping down and back up, drive stakes outboard of two feet acting as the pivot point, and strap lower ends of this legs to the stakes, so when tower is mostly horizontal those feet don’t slide on the ground. We reached in thru corner window by platform with handrails to hold bolt heads to disconnect and reconnect blind. Open this window before tipping down. To tip down, we connected straps to anchor point of stand under blind. Pull with skid to tipping point then let down slowly with tractor. Tied off to bucket of tractor with bucket up in air so strap (above all cross bracing) didn’t press a lot on the cross bracing as tower lowered. When tipping up, we used ladder as support for the strap, as redneck shows in video, to avoid strap pressing on cross bracing.
